Seventeen years ago, I attended a women's retreat known as Tres Dias. It is a once in a lifetime thing to be invited and attend as a candidate. To say that it was life changing is an understatement. That story is a blog for another day.
On my weekend, the Theme song for the weekend was called "I will change your name". I had never heard it, but the Irish melody touched me. I am a sucker for great harmony and this version has amazing harmonies. Click on the image to listen.
When I first heard the song, I thought to myself (in a room full of 35 other candidates listening to the same song), that I didn't resonate with being "wounded, outcast, lonely or afraid".
I'm a highly confident Type A person and what I was struggling with was being an underfunded entrepreneur. So as I was asked to pick my "new name", what I chose was "One who seeks His face".
I instinctively knew that if I seek His face in all that I do, I will be right where I am supposed to be.
17 years later I'm working on my 13th startup and although we are no longer a startup, we are still pre-revenue due to the impact of the pandemic.
I know that He will finish what He started with me, when He gave me the idea for TravelingToGive and our current product suite. Stay tuned for the rest of the story.
